“The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life.”----William Morris
The manner in which a seam is closed, the depth of the carving on a chair leg, and the fashion in which a product is presented are all integral details. It is what makes life interesting and sets the opulent apart from the mundane. As an individual obsessed with details, to meet a kindred spirit is pure energy.
On a recent business trip, such an experience occurred. It was late in the day as I stepped into the old Marathon Motor Works factory. Once a thriving facility for the auto industry, the building had been renovated into an incubator for entrepreneurial upstarts. Intriguing, as such facilities are usually bursting with creative vigor. This place was no exception.
The floorboards creaked with great character as I roamed the historic hallways full of portals to various businesses. Peering in the glass doors to see what dreams lied beyond, I soon discovered a haberdashery of sorts. Upon entering the little atelier, my eyes began to dance from one display to another. Each vignette featured a product of the artisan, mixed with an antique item associated with its production. Although the presentation was dressed in nostalgia, it was quite fresh and distinctively American. The artist was Otis James. His creations: men’s neckwear and caps.
I reached for a bow tie whose pattern caught my eye. As a veteran of the home furnishings industry, my pulse quickens when I see quality textiles. This little shop was a true treasure trove of such. This wasn’t the average men’s clothing store. No, this wasn’t even the luxury-level boutique. This was simply the finest. Before me lied the handiwork of an expert. You could easily sense the heart and soul attached to each item.
Details abounded: From the way the label was made, attached to the garment and the product packaged. Every aspect had been thought through and well-honed. All of these details create an experience worth noting, as this is what builds memories.
VALOR American Home creates a similar experience. It is rich in quality craftsmanship, presentation and customer service. From the moment the white box arrives you know something special is inside. VALOR continues to refine each detail to make the occasion one of favorable consequence.
Otis was there. I asked him what his vision for his brand included. Instantly, his eyes sparked with much fervor, “Caps. I want to further develop my caps.”
One can rest assured, that they too, will be the finest available. Rich with details.
This was a Moment in America.
